The Georgetown Historic District Homeowners' Association was organized in 1996 and was an active organization for several years. Its purpose was "to preserve, protect and enhance the beauty, charcter and heritage of The Georgetown Historic District."
The organization provided an opportunity for us to know our neighbors better, have an organization in place to address neighborhood concerns and raise public awarness of the importance of the Historic District within our community.
The Association became inactive in 2002 because of several circumstances. During 2008, there has been a definite interest within the neighborhood to reactivate this organization.
Of particular interest, is having an active organization in place to communicate neighborhood concerns to its members and to have a voice in decisions that will impact our neighborhood. There have been and there will be many future proposals which affect lifestyle within the Historic District, inculding our commercial neighbors. Together we can be a powerful voice!
